Hello can anyone help me? I don't really know where to start looking for long lost people so I'm hoping someone reads this and can help. I'm looking for my Dads friend, he met her during the war, she's from South Africa and her name was Jeanie Patric (not sure if that's the right spelling) My Dad is Jack (Taffy) Lloyd he was in the navy. Can anyone help????

huh.gif You can try the South African White Pages on http://196.15.219.249/servlet/SAWPSearchServlet
However Patric is not a common South African name - are you sure it is spelt correctly? If it is - just go through the provinces - may take some time.

Sanben,

Have you tried www.Rootsweb.com? It is the Surname Navigator for New South Africa. Go to Rootsweb Message Board S.A. and you can search or post a message on the board. I have had some success.

Good luck,
Munchkin.

Look in your local phone book, for Patric , see if thats the way its spelt. (If you are in large city)

Or drop an ad, in the Cape Times. Looks like she wasn't Afrikaans.

Good Luck

You could also try www.genesreunited.co.za. It is a family history site but you will be able to search and perhaps get a lead from there.
